New Feature: Target communication with segments

New feature!  When you want to remind your fans in Chicago about an upcoming event, give some love to November birthdays, or send a promotion to your customers who prefer red wine, you can segment your audience based on any data you collect.

Start by clicking the “Segments” link on the right side of the the Manage Profiles section or ‘View Segments’ link on the right side of a specific campaign overview page.

After naming your segment, create your first “rule”. Based on default and custom fields in subscriber profiles, rules are criteria from which you can segment your subscriber list.

You can create as many rules to segment your subscribers as much as you like. Your segment stays up to date as new customers subscribe to your campaigns.

With your new segment saved, you can specify the target audience when sending broadcasts. They’ll be happy to receive a personal message.

A few extra ideas on how to use segments:

  • send special offers to customers who frequently purchase wines.
  • offer promotions to customers who have not bought from you in a while.
  • send thank you notes to fans who showed their support at a recent wine event.
  • remind wine club members of pending shipments.
